Yoda didn't think Obi-Wan could match the Emperor, and you know how Obi-Wan did against Darth Vader. Yeah, Vader mentioned that he planned to overthrow the Emperor, but he was probably meaning after some time, since he was still in the process of getting stronger under him. I just don't think that version of Vader is ready, unless he were to tap into his chosen one potential or something.

No but seriously, Vader has a pretty good match up against a sorcerer like Palpatine. His style is faster and a bit more furious without the suit, and I assume we're using a what if Anakin that got the same Vader experience without the energy and loss of force power. Meaning he WOULD surpass Palpatine as the Emperor himself for saw.

Like the Emperor's lightning specifically is more powerful than Starkiller against Vader, even though Star Killer out lightning'd Palpatine promptly after he out sabered Vader. But again that's Vader with a suit.

Dooku was suppressed against Anakin unless Obi wan is way weaker than anakin but that is highly unlikely. Also Palpatine forsaw the potency in Anakin so that he might actually surpass even him someday, thats why He chose him as the successor of dooku. Edited by Pointer, Oct 28 2015, 04:43 PM.

And Forms III and IV aren't very effective against Forms I & II. Kenobi is a he'll of a duelist, but Dooku is that much better in those styles. So he did have the type match-up. Skywalker's form is more aggressive and his connection with the Force really helped him in his duel according to the novelization. He was really in the zone and that's how he beat down dooku.

Wait so do you really think Dooku was not holding back at all against anakin? The whole plot was preset by palpatine to do the exact same s* what he would do against Luke to lead him to the dark side. Dooku was above anakin that is far for sure. Unless Obi Wan is way way weaker duelist than anakin, and if thats true the duel on Mustafar is bulls*, OR .... Anakin Turns to the dark side actually made him Weak. WTF.
